My name is Mike Veny, I’m a mental health speaker, author, writer, and Drummer. I employ a team-building work idea of mine for each team building work activity that I organize.

I encourage everyone to have fun. I am a drummer. That is what I am passionate about, besides my zeal to help people, I am passionate about drumming. I often introduce my drum as well as other instruments during the team-building events to facilitate interaction. At the end of the day, everyone has fun, and everyone becomes relaxed. Introducing the drums into the workshops facilitates a feeling of trust amongst team members. Allowing team members to get playful at the corporate drumming team building workshop makes the team members more emotionally available to each other and can build trust.

I showcase this innovation in team-building events by instantly attuning team members to each other emotionally. From this place of trust, the bond between team members is created and team members are able to better work together.

I try to get team members into a state of mind where they can be playful around each other. This does wonder for the energy in the team. This little play session serves as a team bonding session. This team-building activity allows each team member to revisit a pleasurable moment while connecting that moment with other people in the team. This connection will remain valid while the team is communicating or collaborating. Having a good time with someone is a great way to “break the ice”. Any leftover “ice” from the first meeting would have lingered and ruined lots of communications as well as collaboration. However, after the drumming session at the team building work activity, teammates can now interact more freely and readily with each other.
