Concept of creation: GuangZhou is a true representative of what diversity stands in China. Over the past century, historical changes have shaped GuangZhou what it is today. Many areas of GuangZhou have transformed from western-style architecture complexes built in the Republic of China era into today’s special blocks filled with artistic atmosphere as well as the flavor of everyday life. Artists would like to present the historical changes with the moving interactive form of “the swing”. When people go on the swing, they see the harmonious coexistence of time and space of GuangZhou, and experience the beauty of the light and the shadow.

Interaction form: This is an interactive image installation for the joint action of people and images. When one sits on the swing, and swings up and down, one can feel the changes of the passing of time. At the same time, there is an interactive projection on the white wall in front of the swing. When one swings up, one sees the scenes of Shanghai’s most representative buildings at different times of a day. The installation gets different positions of the swing through a gravity sensor set under the seat, and the images change according to the swing’s position. Therefore, people see different images every time they swing up and down.
