Attention and Awareness - All levels Contact Improvisation INTENSIVE
This Contact Improvisation (CI) intensive will focus on physicality and presence, acceptance, understanding oneself´s emotional patterns and body functions. We will develop an understanding of the underlying physical principles of CI to create and cultivating organic and economical ways to move and dance. We will investigate our resting and moving bodies and how they relate to gravity. Understanding the function of our joints and skeleton – and how we can move efficiently without wasting effort. We will explore our center and our limbs as well as their relationship with each other through movement. We will practice practical anatomical, physical, and perceptual skills to open up avenues of awareness. Technical aspects of CI are combined with improvisation and body-work and explore dialogue of sensing, connecting, disconnecting, responding, resisting, playing and exploring availability and flow.

Dates: Saturday, June 29 to July 1, 2019 (three days)

Time: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (all three days)

Location: Celia Franca Centre, 400 Jarvis Street, Toronto. (Wheelchair accessible)
