My experimentalist video artwork challenges the perception of what constitutes contemporary art, inspired by the writing of Roger White. An artist himself, White expresses his scepticism of the contemporary art movement and the ambiguity of what defines a work of art in the 21st century. Influenced by White's evaluation 'THIS IS NOT A WORK OF ART'
critiques the contemporary institution, by paradoxically presenting several mundane, everyday items to the audience as video art. Each object is then stamped to reduce it to its practical use or purpose, evidencing the distinction between a commodity and an artwork.
