My "Think Wide Open" video for SUNY Purchase.

This video of me improvising could also be considered as a video of me opening my inner eye wide open. When I improvise, I open my mind and spirit to let in all feelings and ideas that diversify my movement. I figuratively open my eyes because I am exploring infinite possibilities and keeping them wide open as a way to discover new concepts and movements. I take in a constant flow of information through my mind and spirit; which is similar to what a person experiences when they have their eyes wide open in the literal way. By dancing in different focuses, it widens the possibility of uniqueness and new perspectives which is a constant exploration for artists. As an artist, improvising is my research and data base when it comes to choreographing. Improvisation has also helped me immensely with knowing my body and the way it moves. It has also helped me a lot with being comfortable in creating movement and with vulnerability. This is why I chose to submit an improvisation video. To me, there is no other time where I think wide open as much as I do when I improvise.
