Our aim in this project was to let you go through 2 drastic worlds, within one simple animation in sketchup. The sound that we made through premiere pro will be accompanying you through this emotional ride.

In the first part (metro station), we wanted to demonstrate how much our perspective on space has changed due to this pandemic as we find ourselves being more aware or cautious of our surrounding spaces. The sight of crowds, whether it be in person or in an old video, brings out a sense of fear as the meaning of personal space is now correlated with safety. The shadows of crowds remind us of the past crowds that used to fill the now-empty environment, in an intimidating sense. The animation allows you to get the feeling of being in the metro station, waiting for your train to approach you, while you are actually just behind your screen. It is this idea of mental teleportation that we more or less aim to get out of each person that “rides on the virtual train”. In the second part (garden of Eden) we wanted the viewer to feel this perfect silence and world filled with nature and animals. A feeling of peacefulness will get installed in each person’s mind as the ideal utopia after the fear that this dystopia has put us through.
