Launching a brand new, prestigious and wide-ranging series about millennia of human history in Europe required an approach that was eye-catching, cinematic and thought-provoking. From the starting point that Europe is less a continent than a collection of ideas, we developed a concept that explored pairs of contrasting themes, encapsulated in recognisable figures from European history from science and beauty in Michelangelo’s David to Empire and tragedy in the exploding bust of Emperor Franz Ferdinand.
We asked Found Studio to bring the concept to life in a stunning animation and Echoic to add a score and atmospheric sound design.
