This video is part of a series developed to promote The Stitching Hour, a public arts performance and experiential marketplace installed on Livernois Ave, also known as the Avenue of Fashion, in Detroit, Michigan on October 5th 2018.
These videos were produced during a series of workshop style rehearsals in which performers were introduced to the processes of fiber extraction, spinning, indigo dyeing and floor loom weaving through hands on demonstrations and prompts for movement.
Each performer was prompted to create their own interpretation of a textile process in motion.
