This is the set for the murder scene in "Murder in a Robot Brothel." It's more than just the set, however, it also follows the action of the scene. The actors will be filmed in a green room with green stairs, desk, bed and other physical properties. This virtual scene and the green scene will then composited together to create the final, finished version of the scene.
I've used green methods before, but never in a full physical, interactive setting. It will be a challenge, but I've already done it in my head, which means I will be able to do it for the film. I have two more virtual sets to build, plus building the physical, green set pieces, before filming with actors can actually commence. Everything gets tested with stand-ins first.
I'm inspired by the "All Green" sets of "Sin City," directed by Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.
