Origin and concept of creation: There is a larger and larger area of oceans in the world being polluted day by day, and thus less and less clean seawater left for mankind. Living in the sea becomes an even more serious challenge for the marine organism. Nowadays, a great number of marine aquariums have been built around the world to let people know more about different kinds of marine life, and to make commercial profits. Artists consider the practice a kind of provocation against the balance of the ecological environment, and the reality of marine lives being kept in captivity also makes them sad. Therefore, the two artists decided to collaborate on a work of art that would allow people to feel the deep ocean without destroying the ecological balance, showing people the beauty of it while urging them to protect the blue ocean.
The interactive paper art installation is mainly presented with jellyfish swarms, integrating their color-changing figures in the sea into the immersive space. If you dive into the blue deep sea, the enchanting and unrestrained jellyfish swarms will get excited and glittering along with your movement. When the audience step into the immersive exhibition hall, the paper art jellyfish will be triggered to float and change colors as an response to the audience’s positions. Step after step, you will feel the changes of the deep ocean.
