The Hushed Ones focuses on the many accusations of sexual abuse within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) and their subsequent mishandling and cover-ups.

The documentary views the issue through the legal case of McKenna Denson, a woman who was raped by her Missionary Training Center President in Provo, UT. McKenna is currently seeking justice from the institution that allegedly knew her abuser was a danger when they placed him in a position of power.

The film also shows the movement of Protect LDS Children and their call for "no one-on-one interviews" and "no sexually explicit questions ever" in regards to minors meeting with their Bishops. The movement seeks to end the sexual shame that is a major contributor to Utah's high youth suicide rate.

The Documentary will also compare the sexual abuse cases coming to light within the Mormon Church to the scandals faced by the Catholic Church in the 2000's.
