Submission for the Anthropologies Numériques #8, an event organised by Les Écrans de la Liberté (Screens of Freedom, Paris, France), in partnership with Senselab (Concordia University, Montreal, Canada).

This filmic installation seeks to explore spaces created by human action that attempt to increase sustainability and health in areas of poverty, health disparities, and food deserts. The filmic work segments delve in the meaning-making and sense-making of urban formers in Cleveland, USA who use urban farming as a form of radical sustainability activism to shift toward a positive future.

The split screen video installation alternates between sensorially-thematic scenes that invoke sense-making through visceral and sensorial landscapes and qualitative research-based scenes that invoke meaning-making through fieldwork, interviews on local experience, and environmental data analysis. The split screen installation disrupts linearity and seeks to expose a future that can be viewed as a culmination of past, present, and future. Although the film production and research has a singular locality, it represents a multi locality of importance. The overarching conclusion? The future is green.
