In 1918, after years of campaigning, women were granted the right to vote. Their voices were finally heard.
You told us your story, you sent us your photos.
Together we collected 3,724 photos in just 6 weeks to create a giant photo mosaic at New Street, Birmingham.
The Face Of Suffrage has been hugely popular on social media channels, reaching more than a million Facebook, Twitter and Instagram timelines.
Hilda threw a stone at Prime Minister Herbert Asquith's train as it pulled out of Birmingham New Street after he attended a male only budget meeting in 1909. She was imprisoned and forcibly fed at Winson Green prison.
People were invited to submit their own pictures of inspirational women from today to go alongside historical pictures of women from the West Midlands and nationwide from the LSE Library in the early 1900s.
It has proved hugely popular with passengers during its four weeks in position, with a huge response on social media and a number of spin-off events taking place for people to learn more about the Women’s Suffrage movement.
A project by The People's Picture, co-produced by Grain Photography Hub, with the support of Network Rail, Arts Council England and CrossCountry trains.
