The Exquisite Corpse Project documents an ongoing participatory painting project developed in various free/autonomous cultural spaces around Amsterdam. Produced in Vondel Park during Vondelbunker Festival. The film highlights the Vondelbunker as a site of alternative cultural production with a legacy within the Amsterdam squatter's movement. Ten years since the criminalisation of squatting in Amsterdam, the Exquisite Corpse Project documents and engages local countercultural collectives alongside their publics to raise questions and make paintings of the relationships between the individual and collective, the artist and the viewer, the conscience and the subconscience as well as art and politics today.
