“the condition of being”is a project conceived by Jamie Nichols in collaboration with eight of her former students, all graduates of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. “the condition of being” was inspired by the events of the year 2020 and the 400 years leading up to this moment. The statements written and performed by the actors are accounts of their lives and their thoughts about racial injustice.
