Björk works with installations and sculptures. She will often have the element of the body involved and activate the senses through her pieces. Nature, technology and the viewer are all coming together in harmony. The white circles moving in the wind are good example of this combination between something very organic and still clearly constructed. As the cloth surface meets its outdoor setting it turns into a drum and absorbs the sounds of the weather and landscape. Björk explains:
“I remember the sound of sand on it. And just walking in nature. I like what you can collect from the landscape and combine it with clean shapes and materials. The viewer can interact with a lot of my pieces also. I trust the viewers point of view”
The minimalisms of the sculptures will then trick the memory of the viewer easily as the shapes will remind you of personal associations. When a viewer comes near, or the rain falls down the sound will awake a new experience of the piece. The abstract element of the blue lights makes an aesthetics of coolness and a vibe of bright action. The white circles look out of place and still they can give us an awaking of associations and memories.
