"The Bride Strips Bare For Her Bachelorettes" is a video/performance/installation made for MFA 2012 Thesis Show @ The Nelson Gallery, UC Davis, CA.

This is a short clip from the video projected into the corner of the Gallery.
The installation included nine hollow cast "corset torsos". These which were all cast from the artist's body were suspended from the ceiling. On the floor of the gallery beneath this projection the "stage" or action arena laid witness as evidence of a presence, a past action/event that has occurred.

This is a gender queer exploration that gives nod to the grandfather of Post Modernism (Marcel Duchamp), while subversively poking fun at the phalocentricism of abstract expressionism and the ever pervasive male dominated representation of the nude female body. This work was also inspired by Hannah Wilke's live performance at the PMA "Stripped Bare"; which explores erotic desire in the face of the art object. As a performance based Artist, Danielle situates herself to become the object of not just yours but also her own desire. At times this piece creates a closed circuit where the bride is also the bachelorette, the image maker is the image, the objectified is the objectifier.
