Sulwhasoo, a luxury skin care brand based in Korea, released a special edition of one of their facial serums that was centred around the Lunar New Year. To celebrate and announce it, they wanted to make a video campaign that they could play in their stores and release online, focusing on the Zodiac animal of 2020: the Rat.
Working together with the agency A Work of Substance, we developed a style that mimicked the design on the product by combining classic frame by frame animation, digital animation, and 3d animation. Using these techniques, we were able to tell an engaging story that sparked a feeling of magic and celebration.
