Humans are asleep. We often hear this among spiritual teachers who speak about the constant struggle to wake up and to reconcile the heart with the brain. We almost always find ourselves confused when we reflect at our own self and the interaction with ourselves and others almost always leads to the annhiliation of one of the parts involved in the interaction. At least it leads to the internal struggle to find freedom and the desire to sleep even more. Connected as we are and more often than not entangled in an undesciphrable web we crawl through life and try to find a deeper meaning and always a deep strata of truth beyond black and white thinking and when we find a bit of freedom we fall to the bottom all over again entrapped even more with even more burdens to carry. We find others, we drag others through life and we drag even our shadow in the upper movement in reality, but our true self often remains untackled and hypnotized if not even hurt, fallen and hard to ever rescue. While so burdened by emotions and trying to find a reason in life we wander from place to place and until we reach a higher ground beyond our hurt sometimes this very act of going upwards becomes devoid of any meaning but the going upwards itself and sometimes this is the only thing which consumes us while making us neglect important aspects of our experience and maybe other ways of moving in reality, other than ascending and descending. Given the fact that the path we make for ourselves and the path we leave behind always has to be owned at the most high social level possible we find out that our whole experience can become reducible to words and strata of words and the whole peocess of articulating our experience becomes mandatory but this not only makes us lose our innocence but it also unbalances us completely and we yet again find out that this language problem which experience and owning of our experience imposes can be reduced to emotions and can make us fragmented even more between rationalizing and feeling each experience we have. Before we run away from ourselves completely the rapture we constantly feel inside gets translated into social relationships as polarization and we often get triangulated and almost certainly entangled with everyone unable to really discern which thoughts, emotions and actions are really ours and which are that of the other people we encounter. This path of moving chaotically through life even though apparently rational, as we are moving in function of what we decide its ours, leads to a lot of deflection situations and the result is that of being put through retaliations or solving gordian knot type of problems with people in order to cope with the amount of entanglement present in the situation which always reflects the internal state of chaos we live in. Any social situation is a means of connection with someone else even if its negative or karmic and the effect of ignoring the real people we are connected with is that of fragmenting them psychologically without even knowing. The result of this psychological fragmentation is our inhability to perceive life directly but in a derogatory way and through symbolic interpretations of life which are less understandable by the body and then we internalize anything we see without really being able to relate.
To this internal plethora of selves we attribute states of being and different views on life and we have no choice but to carry them around with us in the hopes of meeting someone and craving for a connection deep enough to make us whole again. Sometimes the heart comes and rescues us from having to face our nightmares and even our real self image and some level of psychological integration of our different aspects of self can be reached. Our soul parts search for our core self, our true self among the multitude of selves created in order to cope with others which can multiply ad infinitum. So maybe the real lfe movement and the real social dynamics underlying every human interaction and many lifelines is the movement towards the real self which can be as smooth as abrupt and if we try to reduce it we can find it in the simple act of self reflection, just a leaning towards something. Finding something worthwile in life beyond any codependence and fragmentation requires a lot of courage to see one’s self and life before any projections of how it should be and sometimes the dignity to assume that in certain circumstances there is no core self but something waiting to be born.
