The is a short excerpt from moving image work ‘Grass Mountain,’ the result of collaboration by artist Anna Glynn and biologist Peter Dalmazzo, created through an artist in residency with the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology in Oregon USA as part of the Swedish/ARNA Art, Ecology & Science Project.

A meditation on place, flowing in a circular reflection, guides the eye into the more intimate details of this verdant landscape and the wildlife that lives there.

In interdisciplinary collaborations as artist and scientist in residence Glynn and Dalmazzo collect material in the field. Glynn then selects and creates the final moving image/video artwork. Driven by curiosity they capture their responses, creating work which has a light environmental footprint with minimal impact on fragile ecosystems. They research and record and through their encounters, perceptions and experiences, create works including audio and visual field recordings, time-lapse video, animation, painting, drawing and ephemeral installation.
