Hello folks... Just to be clear, me + commercials don't mix. However, I know there's a lot of knowledge to be attained from their process (ie. making sure to hit the proper beats at the appropriate time and making sure to be mindful of time constraints etc.) so I had to give this a try. That being said, I find acting for a commercial vs. acting for dramatic storytelling are 2 very different things (as the overall objectives are essentially, respectively, very different). Acting in commercial mode finds me incorporating exaggerated inflections in my speech pattern, whilst flashing the odd mechanical smile or two. In contrast, acting in storytelling mode finds me relying on my behaviours and instincts to communicate the action... I smile if the words inspire to do so and get aggravated or saddened in the same way. Anyways, I couldn't do this too much so I did it a couple times and just went with the first go as it felt/looked most natural. Critiques always welcome, matter of fact they're encouraged. Just curious if I'm on the right path in your opinions or not. Cheers guys. - Said
