Been tinkering around with a personal project, and wanted to run a quick greeble test. There's no shader on the geometry. The animation was done by animating the camera and rotating the object slightly, as opposed to animating the object. I read somewhere that's how they shot the original Star Wars miniatures. Then I did a separate animation of the starfield, completely different from the camera move, which gives an interesting effect.
