Influenced by the rise in modern mainstream interactive technology Omnipotent - meaning to have virtually unlimited authority or influence - aims to explore the relationship between the physical object and the virtual environment through user interaction. The immersive projection depicts a clichéd, idyllic environment in which the user, as the sun, controls the light that falls over the scene as they desire. The standby visuals are non-existent and so this interaction is required as the user’s engagement with the tablet allows the project to function and their own arm movement dictates control over the scene within set parameters.
Users are granted the authority to light the scene by adjusting the position of a virtual sun, representing the largest star within our solar system, which I believe is a position of power. This delegation of power invokes a greater reflection of the user’s emotions, using light as a metaphor of control within the user themselves.
