A personal project / 1st previz version

After watching kong:skull island, I asked myself :

what if there were other monsters on the island, hidden in plain sight, waiting for a prey big enough to leave their burrow??

- I challenged myself in a number of ways here:

- 1st challenge was to come up with the idea .

- 2nd was to write down how that battle will unfold, i wrote a detailed beat-sheet to guide my planning.

- 3rd was the fact that i have never animated a dinosaur or a spider before, so i had to do a lot of research to make sure that spider behavior was grounded in reality ( there is an actual species of spiders that hunt like that )

- I decided to liberate myself from having to find reference before i start planning or writing, i decided to focus on what i felt was entertaining in terms of performance / choreography THEN make sure i edit/modify that to be as believable/grounded in reality as possible.

- Another challenge was to control the urge of making this much longer and to involve more characters, i had to remind myself that finishing this is better than a much longer / complicated version that i don't have the time to finish.

- one more challenge was to handle some technical issues on both rigs and find ways around them.

- I am proud of the progress i made so far and i think the idea/story is clear enough now, thats why i decided to share this 1st version . will upload a 2nd one with all other environment elements and a third with final animation .
