Heel Raise & Toe PAILs Contraction
Stand parallel and hip-width apart with the toes long and spread wide. Lift the heels up as high as possible. Keep the weight centered over the foot so that both the big toe ball & little toe ball are grounded. The toes are now passively at their maximum range of extension. Start pressing all toes into the floor while keeping them as long as possible. This activates the progressive/stretched tissue, in this case, the toe flexors. As the toes press into the floor, try to lift the heels higher. Hold for 10 counts.

Heel Lower & Toe Extension Passive Range Hold
Keep the heels high and try to lift the toes off the floor (at this point, the toes will likely not come of the floor). Then slowly start lowering the heels while trying to maintain the passive range of toe extension by continuously pulling the toes towards the shin. Eventually, the toes will lift off the floor. During this portion, the regressive/shortened tissue on top of the foot (toe extensors) is being activated.

After the last Passive Range Hold move directly into a set of Toe Lifts. The version shown here starts with all the toes in extension and then alternates between lowering the big toes and all the little toes onto the floor.
