Here's an animation I created for the non-profit 'Purpose Is Change' out of Austin, Texas. I created their logo and put a little life into it with this quick introduction piece.

"Purpose is Change is the new standard of movements. It is more than reaching for something new. It is the something new. Purpose is Change fights for three main objectives under Purpose is Change:

The right for $15/hour minimum wage ($10/hour for food

Overtime starts after 32 hours with protection against retaliation

Lead Texas into becoming a truly "At Will State" with a solid set of benefits for both the employer and the employee

Poverty and financial struggles is a disease caused by the greed of man. The rich have only one concern—becoming even richer. And this leaves the poor to fight for their next meal. ENOUGH is enough. It is time that I, we, you look in the mirror. Every change starts with one person seeing truth, standing up, and saying, ENOUGH! The only way to win this battle is for the people to fight for their own rights. The National Employment Law Project informs us of the following:

Minimum wage rates in 19 states and 21 cities and counties will raise by January 1st

21 additional areas will raise rates later in the year.

In 13 cities and counties, the minimum wage will reach or exceed $15 dollars an hour.

Yet, Texas' minimum wage remains the same at $7.25. The minimum wage for Texas was set in 2009. Minimum wage in Texas is approximately 35% of the national average. This is historically low. If you are a minimum wage worker in Texas, you will earn about $15,000/year. That amount places you below the federal poverty line. It's time to not just say, "Enough!" It is time to turn words into actions. Every life, every person has the right to pursue their dreams and work for more. It's time we give everyone a fighting chance by raising the minimum wage to $15.00. It's time we feed hope and life back into the people of Texas. Our purpose is to help you drive change. Join us in creating a better, brighter tomorrow."
