Created for Moving Image Studio at Wellesley College, this piece focuses on the mindscape of a figure skater, transitioning from a projected reality of a regimented step sequence with loudspeaker music and skate scratching you could hear in reality, to a more encapsulated imagined experience as emotions come into play, and the skater ebbs and flows into fantastical shades of purple. It features the song “O“ by Coldplay. Created using hand animation over recorded footage of the artist figure skating in Adobe Photoshop, then edited in Adobe Premiere and Audition to create the full video piece.
