REtransLATE is a performance about translation and (mis)interpretation. Translating in this project takes point of departure in the aspects of communication beyond the meaning in the words: the audible and rhythmical, the breath, the intonation, the movement of the gaze and the relation to the moving body. During the pre-project Solowork – forever working title, a dance material in 5 variations was developed. This movement material, as well as rhythms written down in scores and texts in its musical aspect, are the base to be interpreted and translated by the artists involved in the creation. The translated materials in sounds, movements and light will be composed together, ending in a performance that can be called both a musical and light composition as well as a choreography.

For this presentation during ImPulsTanz 2021, as part of ATLAS program, questions on embodiment of the he movement material that was developed in 2020 and structures for relations between the performers were encountered. A score was put together prior to the presentation, based on the questions treated during rehearsals.
