'Portraits of the Colour Red' is an artistic project in the development stage. It is an urban tale weaving mythological representations of the feminine with a modern landscape. It explores women's relationship to one another and their body, moving through cyclical patterns found in nature and dance. It draws inspiration from women on and off stage and historical archetypes in literature and religion.
It is part of a larger project by Harriet Roberts incorporating her ongoing work with paint and sound as well as different groups of people; dancers and non-dancers internationally. It ties to Harriet's study of menstrual awareness, pregnancy and the female body.
