Part of a series of generative audiovisual works made using cellular automata and 2-dimensional Turing machines known as 'turmites'.
Multitudes of turmites roam a 2D pixel grid leaving coloured patterns in their wake. Their environmental conditions are manipulated and the rulesets governing their movement are allowed to mutate. Visible patterns emerge from the movement of successful populations. Births and deaths are also output as wave table data to the audio stream.
