My final outcome for the 'Picture Sound' brief, which displays a visually abstract interpretation of a clip of Madeleine's sound piece. Influenced by the work of Man Ray, who's work focuses on light, the kinetic, and the object, I filmed and edited various sources of light and artwork, experimenting with the movement of the camera and light itself to mirror the subject and mood of the sounds, such as water ripples and fireworks.
This is a dramatic piece, that begins quite peacefully, with a darker and more chaotic mood creeping in towards the end. The colour palette is built around deep blues, which can create both a tranquil and dramatic mood. By building overlays using my footage of light movement, expressive patterns and vivid colours come and go throughout the piece to create a sense of light and shade.
