Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (AGG) is a discipline of gymnastics based on stylized, natural total body movement. Seven women, ranging from 18 to 27 years old and representing D'Gymnastique Academy, have formed the only AGG team to represent Singapore in the 20th AGG World Championships in Spain. The team consists of students, coaches, physiotherapist, and a compliance analyst. AGG is a new sport in Singapore and they hope to develop the sport here and put Singapore on the world map. They are already the first and only Singapore club to be listed as a member with International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics (IFAGG), which allows them to take part in international AGG tournaments and events. Besides the World Championships, they also competed in the World Cup 2019 which was held in Singapore for the first time from April 1 to 4 in 2019. They came in 10th out of 16 teams in the women's category. The Straits Times photojournalist Lim Yaohui follows them on their preparations for the competition on the world stage.
