We are spiritual beings. Our human spirit has several functions including: (i) Conscience – recognizing right and wrong, (ii) Knowing – spiritual revelation and knowledge through spirit senses, (iii) Communion – worship and fellowship with God, (iv) Container – (carrier, house, dwelling place) of the life, nature, grace, power, anointing and glory of God, (v) Identity – who you are in Christ, (vi) Action – believing, serving, interceding, fighting and getting things done in the spirit, and (vii) Growth – developing into Christlikeness. In this message we wish to consider important Biblical insights on how a believer as a spiritual being ought to live in the natural world, while relating to the spiritual, at the same time. We present few insights in this message, and we will expand on this in the upcoming sermons. Some of the key points are: 1. You are a spirit being, you have a soul and live in a body. 2. As spirit beings we relate to God in the spirit. We worship God in spirit. We hear God's voice in the spirit realm. 3. As spirit beings we live out of what God has done for us in the spirit. God completes the work in the spiritual realm and invites us to live out of what He has already done for us. 4. As spirit beings we walk by faith in God and with a renewed mind. What God has freely made available to us by grace, we must receive by faith. It is through faith in God, that we live as overcomers. 5. As spirit beings we set our gaze on the eternal. We live life in such a way, that gathers the fruits for eternity. We lay up treasures in the unseen spiritual realm.
