This is one of many songs that the American Suffragettes sang in their 150 year long campaign to win the vote for women. This adapted melody of an earlier ballad was a staple in the movement and found its way into the voices of the men and women who worked the campaign for almost 75 years. This video is from my days as a Non Traditional Student, at Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach.
