Nurture is the most important principle in the RENEW process. Nurturing is all about making (and becoming) disciples of Jesus Christ.
What is a disciple? Jesus defines it this way: "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher." Luke 6:40.
A disciple is one who is like his/her teacher and teaches others what he/she has been taught. Nurture is about teaching people to grow in their walk with God so they can then teach others. individuals to teach just like they were taught. That's what Jesus did while He was here on the earth. He raised up a church movement that was going to change the world - by training disciples who could follow in His footsteps.
Our churches today need to be filled with disciples who can make other disciples. Then they will become successful church growth movements.
