The team at Klue wanted to provide NBA fans in China the opportunity to learn from one of the most exciting players in the NBA…right on their phones. To celebrate the launch of the Kyrie 5 in China, the digital agency created an interactive H5 game with Kyrie showing key poses for various NBA moves, along with a few fun ones just for kicks.

The app cycles through over 20 different poses that we and our wonderful character animation team at Human Ark created, using the Kyrie model we designed, modeled, and rigged. Once the user matches each of the 5 key poses, then they get to watch our 20 second tutorial animation of Kyrie performing a sequence of his key moves to take it to the hoop.

Human Ark’s elite character animators didn’t shy away from the challenge. Having repped them on previous China jobs, the team is aware of the time constraints we often have to deal with here and quickly set to work.

With the help of the agency creatives giving plenty of support on how Kyrie should move, along with plenty of Youtube research and even a motion capture session to make sure we were nailing key poses, we were able to help launch the game as an early Christmas gift to the hundreds and thousands of Kyrie fans out there wanting to learn from their hero.
