A short combo of some movement from the past two years
First up selection of moments from the very first performance of my award winning solo show 'Castles'. The whole show was scored by my voice so I thought it would be nice to score this vid with the first song from that show; Pusher by Alt-J. Castles went on to tour Australia and New Zealand and pick up a bunch of awards along the way.
Next up some improvisation performed during an informal studio showing House of Sand ran at the end of a very successful first development early 2019. I'd been working in Wellington with the beautiful Christina Guieb and Ella Williams developing a mode of improvisation for performance that House of Sand will be exploring further in the next few years! Excited to see where this leads!
Finally some studio work from the process of developing 'Skin of Grime' for The New Zealand School of Dance. A solo the school commissioned me to make on Holly Brogan which was based on the poem Sunflower Sutra by Allen Ginsberg.
I don't have much good footage of my dancing and I'm clearly not a film editor so please excuse the poor production quality. I hope you can still get a small sense of what I do.
