Theoretically if I had used the correct shade of blue and positioned the fan outside, the primarily colors would have blended to create the full colour wheel. This was a strategy used in pointillism - the painter would put daubs of unmixed colour onto the canvas and together the different colour daubs would blend in the viewers eye thus creating various different colours and shades.
I just find it fascinating how colour can so easily change with movement. Here I’ve used a modern day technology to produce the effect and even demonstrate how simple changes create bigger consequences. By adding the colour to fan blades, the fans became less aerodynamic and created noise that would have definitely prevented me from sleeping.
