The idea for “Mirrors” was to create a series of reflections continuously bouncing off each other’s reflections. The mirror is a representation of an individual going through a chaotic journey and finding balance in their surroundings. A cube made of mirrors was placed in water to capture the surrounding nature and its reflection off the water. The intention was to capture the subtle changes of nature, the vibrant colors, and organic forms, then completely distort them. The distorting was created by mirroring the already mirrored images creating dynamic geometric movement. “Mirrors” is meant for the viewer to interpret this chaotic distortion and find meaning and balance with one another. Through this chaotic experience, ethereal almost haunting sounds resonate with the movements, growing in occurrence. Once everything settles and a sense of calming clarity reveals an epiphany, a whispering voice. “I am you, and you are me, we are everything we see”
