VIDEO DESCRIPTION:

Play, download and edit the free video Miniature Metropolis - Study Project.

This was a really cool project I did with Maite Leukering (vimeo.com/maiteleukering) for a university assignment.
The idea was to create an endless loop.
To work on it in parallel we split the scene in two parts - the dark alley at the beginning (Maite Leukering in Maya) and the open cityscape afterwards (me in 3ds Max).

In creating the two sections, we focused on different types of tasks.
The alley was modeled and textured from scratch. No kitbash assets were used as Maite's main focus was on modelling/texturing.
The more open cityscape was mostly kitbashed because I mainly work in FX and spent more time on fx elements such as the snow, smoke and traffic system. I also did the compositing and sound design.

The duration of the project was roughly half a year, besides many other projects, and brought many exciting challenges.
