We pick / put down weights. Make all kinds of crazy shapes on rectangular mats. Run in straight lines for miles and miles (sometimes getting nowhere). But playing catch is often overlooked as "kid's stuff".
This video highlights some playful solo and partnered med ball work. These drills support joint integrity / stability, mobility, integrated strength, and athleticism.
The solo drills are great warmups or recovery day work. The partner work is great for both skill training and conditioning. I recommend using a 6-12lb. med ball and practicing for time (set a timer and play).
