In 2008 I created a new style of still photography video creation that I called PhotoGRAPHICvideo. The new Nikon D3 with a 6400 ISO sensor had recently been introduced and that meant NO strobes and NO lights. Just run and gun photography. My assignment was to cover my son's Jesse Carmichael's band Maroon on a tour through Japan. I wanted to capture the movement of the tour, the look of the on-stage performances and moments in the lives of the musicians and their crew on the road. I carried a lot of cards and chronicling them so our editor could use them in a video cut to the song. The great musician and editor Brad Wetmore of Wetmore Digital Arts in LA cut the piece from thousands of my stills. Once we had a cut the after -effects and graphic artists Limbert Fabian and Danny Delpurgatorio both then of Reel FX Dallas delivered their artistry. The end result is the first PhotoGRAPHICvideo directed and shot by Bob Carmichael Executive Producer Fran Gaconnier.
