Through the mediums of machine embroidery, hand beading, animation and digital drawing, the work documents and deconstructs the development of computers. The intention of the work is to question whose memories and whose labor is acknowledged in the production of the digital age. Using the traditionally defined female labor of embroidery, computer memory and motherboards are visualized to call attention to undervalued labor, i.e. the labor of the “other”. As we move towards artificial intelligence all human labor will be devalued as corporations continue to exploit the masses and the planet for profit.
