LOOO is a self-rolling toilet paper installation which addresses the topic of
communication based on words. (The title is inspired by the word loo, an informal way
to call toilets. One more “o” is added here to abstract the title, echoing a meaningless
sound of mumbling.)
This installation requires at least two toilet paper holders to run. The toilet paper
holders are designed to roll on its own for a second when a movement is detected within
certain distance. Word stamps are available for participants to organize sentences on the
toilet paper. Choices of English words are gathered from a poll of the most Popular-
Political-Issues. Participants may experience the deficiency of words to construct certain
ideologies or context since the words from the political issue names are split and
alphabetized. Words of specifics are ripped off, such as Obama or ISIS, since they are
not words of ideas.
