I recently did an event, creating live stop motion animation in real time, as the incredible Jazz-trio Archipelago played their music to a family-friendly crowd at Cobalt Studios.
This was a collabative performance presented by Chalk for The Tipping Point Live.
I have done live drawing before but never live stop motion - moving and creating pretty organically in response to what I was hearing on stage. It was intense, brilliant, fun and exciting, and a bit special, particularly being able to collaborate with such a great band.
This resulting animation is what I created throughout the 45 minute gig. It's a bit rough, it isn't meant to be seen as a polished animation, but more a visual to capture the energy and tempo of the whole gig (although I've added Archipelago's lovely track 'More Bamboo, Less Pandas' which fits rather nicely)
