La performance che sto sviluppando nel contesto della residenza si chiama Arcana Swarm ed è l'ultima parte della trilogia "The staggered dances of beauty" dopo Rasp your Soul (2017) e Stellar Fauna (2018). Arcana Swarm significa sciame misterioso. La ricerca cinetica si concentra su una condizione in cui gli artisti si muovono in uno stato di gioia che collassa continuamente. Trasformando la "spinta" verso l'alto e il suo crollo in una condizione performativa affrontiamo attraverso la poetica del movimento l'impossibilità della sua rappresentazione.

Kat Válastur (nata ad Atene) è una coreografa di base a Berlino. Le sue opere sono definite dalla creazione di un linguaggio coreutico distintivo che si occupa delle influenze e degli effetti derivanti dalle tensioni energetiche delle attuali condizioni tecnologiche, ambientali e politiche, e di come il corpo traduce queste influenze in danza. Le sue opere sono presentate a livello internazionale e sono supportate da HAU Hebbel am Ufer.

The piece I am developing in the context of the residency is called Arcana Swarm, and its the last part of the trilogy “ The staggered dances of beauty” following Rasp your Soul ( 2017) and Stellar Fauna ( 2018). Arcana Swarm means mysterious swarm. The kinetic research focuses on a condition in which the performers move in a state of joy that continuously collapses. By transforming the above “drive” and its collapse into a performative condition we confront through the poetics of movement the impossibility of its representation.

Kat Válastur ( born in Athens) is a choreographer based in Berlin. Her works are defined by the creation of a distinctive dance language that deals with the affects and effects that derive from the power tensions of the current technological, environmental and political conditions, and how the body translates these affects into dance. Her works are presented internationally and are supported by HAU Hebbel am Ufer
