Behemoth Trot Cycle - Animation completed to showcase animation and creature FX rigs for the Behemoth creature from Final Fantasy XV. Responsible for all except modelling and texturing. Model acquired from deviantArt user Xelandis, from Final Fantasy XV.
Spider-Gwen UE4 Prototype - Playable demo created using Blueprints in Unreal Engine 4 for my dissertation project investigating the role of a Technical Animator in games. Rig features custom vector pose readers and hood collisions. Additive hood dynamics applied in engine. Model by Bryan Bedford. Longer demo featuring all created animations: vimeo.com/328255902
Centaur Gallop and Staff Swing - An experiment in overlaying an attack sequence on top of a cycle for potential use in game. Rig features prop space switching, joint based facial rig and various IK/FK switches. Model by Tom O'Brien.
Skeleton Run Cycle - An animation to try and create asymmetrical and off-balance movement. Primary aim to demonstrate weight though clumsy motion. Rigged using an old auto-rigging tool of mine. Model acquired from models-resource user senjen, from Zombie Panic in Wonderland.
Dog Run Cycle - A standard dog run cycle to practise realistic quadruped motion. Rig created on existing joints and skinning. Model source unknown.
Tails Victory Animation - A short performance piece to demonstrate cartoony elements and show personality in the context of a victory/results screen. Rigged and animated in 3DS Max. Model acquired from models-resource user Random Talking Bush, from Sonic Generations.
Mavericks Proving Grounds Teaser Trailer - A snippet of my work on the trailer for Automaton Games' Mavericks Proving Grounds shown at E3 2018. Responsible for motion capture retargeting, blending takes, and additional animation. Animations were exported for use in CryEngine using Crytek's own tools. Kong Vault Animation - A parkour animation to investigate body mechanics. Rig by Joe Daniels.
Sword Slash Animation - An animation inspired by sprites from Fire Emblem, demonstrating extreme smears to accentuate motion. Sword rig is joint based, allowing for extreme stretching and bending. Character rig by Joe Daniels. Sword model acquired by models-resource user maver1k_XVII from Fairy Tail: Zelef Kakusei, later adjusted for rigging by myself.
Behemoth Rig Demonstration - A showcase of some of the Behemoth animation rig's features. Those shown include SplineIK back with toggle-able detail control visibility and mid control follow bias, with IK/FK blending possible. Similar features exist on the tail, along with IK twist control and an FK control to rotate all controls simultaneously for easy posing. Face rig is entirely joint based, utilising motion paths with blend shapes to reach key expressions, with additional high detail manipulation possible.
