Sure, I could have played simple, strummed high strung acoustic chords, but creating thematic parts with some movement is better, creating a more memorable musical theme. This is an important part of producing and building songs up, and not something everyone understands immediately. Look for a musical theme that helps tell the story even before the vocals are added.
I created a very subtle musical theme utilizing this little parlor guitar which i keep in Nashville tuning (high strung).
