An at-home reading of a segment of Cephalopodomania, my fifteen-part Final Major Project on RCA MA Writing. Cephalopodomania is a short book that follows the octopus into far-flung corners of contemporary thought. Mirroring the ways that an octopus's skin changes colour along with its emotions or intentions, each segment of Cephalopodomania is marked with a colour – a mood indicating an approach, from curiosity to wariness, disgust to trust. This segment – movement made multiple – considers a 'soft robot' who has been created in the image of an octopus.
