It all started in March of '20 as soon as the pandemic entered our lives and everyone was trying to explain it, to understand it or at least to deconstruct it.
I studied the symbols of "memento mori" and the artistic movement "vanitas"until their contemporary references and evolution but also the Greek death rituals, finding a common place. But this work does not look only at the dark side. The purpose of the project is to remind the necessity for life and to release from the burden of its transience by offering consolation through the idea of eternal rest and companionship.
We started researching at the end of February of '21, sneaking around the closed city, driven by our need to create, communicate and reflect. Meeting and rehearsing in my living-room, with no resources, we manage through loses and frustration.
